GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — PopCon! is returning to the Brown County Central Library for a day of goosebumps, shake ups, dress up, and role playing. The event runs from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the central branch in downtown Green Bay. Special guest R.L. Stine, best selling author of the Goosebumps series, will make a few appearances.
Adult Services Manager at the library, Andrea West, says a new addition to the event this year is an opportunity to try a role-playing game (RPG). You may sign up for a quick introductory session of Dungeons & Dragons (starting at 11 a.m.) or drop into an ongoing Pathfinder game between 11 a.m. -2 p.m.
The power-pop band The Shake Ups are returning for another musical performance. The Shake Ups have released several full-length albums inspired by their favorite cartoons, including Steven Universe, Voltron, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Scooby-Doo and more!
You can also dress in costume and enter the cosplay contest. If you want to improve your cosplay skills, professional and award-winning cosplayer Valerie Meacham will be presenting “The Art of Cutting Corners: Making the Most of Your Cosplay Budget, Time and Skill Level” at 11 a.m. The Library also has plenty of books to get you started, including:
