HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Lifepoint Health is proposing to build a 50-bed hospital, just east of I-41 and south of Shawano Avenue.
According to plans submitted to the village, the project’s construction cost is estimated to be $35 million, with a total project cost of up to $48 million.
“The proposed facility is designed to provide state-of-the-art inpatient rehabilitation services consistent with best practices in the industry as well as the needs of the community it serves. Patients will typically stay for an average of approximately 14 days and will be recovering from prior acute health care events, such as physical injury, stroke, and other conditions that may require more advanced rehabilitation than provided in the traditional hospital setting,” states the summary.
If approved, construction could start in the third quarter of 2024, take 11-to-14 months to complete, and open in late 2025.
The two-story facility would employ about 120 people.
Howard’s Plan Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the 2456 Glendale Avenue.
