KIEL, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Kiel Fire Department is reminding residents the importance of working smoke detectors after an apartment complex fire.
It happened Monday night on E. Chicago Street.
Several residents evacuated. Two people were rescued through windows.
Everyone was accounted for.
Six residents had to be evaluated, with five being transported for non-life threatening injuries. A first responder also suffered a minor injury.
There’s no damage estimate at this time.
The Red Cross is helping those displaced.
