KEWAUNEE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A farm in Kewaunee County is participating in a national program aimed at educating youth about animals and agriculture.
Schleis Farms is a 4th generation family owned dairy farm.
“Adopt a Cow” is a year-long, interactive program gives students a behind-the-scenes look at a dairy farm through hands-on learning with their cow.
“We will show them how many times a day we feed them, what we feed them, their weights and heights, and different things we do day in and day out,” said Owner Tasha Schleis.
Students also get photos of the cow, activity sheets, informational presentations, etc.
The program impacted more than 1 million students in 2023.
