(WNFL) – Bay Port and Kaukauna have advanced to the WIAA state golf tournament after finishing first and second, respectively, at the WIAA Division 1 sectional at Thornberry Creek on Tuesday.
Individual qualifiers for the state tourament include medalist Talia Schlindwein of Wausau East/West who shot a 77, Emma Cunningham of Green Bay Preble Co-op with a 78 and Taylor LeMire of Appleton North with an 80.
Cunningham and Isabel Johnsen finished 1 stroke behind Schlindwein as each shot a 78.
Team standings: Bay Port 335, Kaukauna 348, De Pere 357, Appleton North 367, Hortonville 367, Notre Dame 386, Appleton West 402, Green Bay Preble Co-op 403.
Division 2 Seymour sectional
Freedom and Seymoure both advanced to the WIAA Division 2 state golf tournament by finished 1-2 at the Seymour sectional at Crystal Springs Golf Course.
Seymour and Marinette tied for second at 403 but Seymour won the tie-breaker. Seymour’s tie-breaker scores were 5, 5, 6, 6 while Marinette’s were 5, 6, 6, 7.
Individual qualifiers include medalist Aubrey Molaison of Lake Country Lutheran who shot an 86, Taylor Miller of Oconto Falls and Reagan Hermanson of Marinette who both shot 92. Miller, Hermanson and Kay Lee McClintock all tied for second with rounds of 92.
Team scores: Freedom 400, Marinette 403, Seymour 403, Oconto Falls 409, Lake Country Lutheran 418, Denmark 430, Winneconne 432, Kettle Moraine Lutheran 451, Plymouth 486.
The state tournament will be played at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison on Monday, Oct. 14 and Tuesday, Oct. 14.
