MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A 17-year-old boy accused of running from Menasha police while armed with a handgun was taken into custody.
Just before noon Thursday, police were called to the 500 block of Baldwin Street after a homeowner reported a verbal confrontation with an armed individual.
Officers arrived on scene and located a 17-year-old boy matching the description provided. When officers tried to make contact, the teen ran away and was seen carrying a handgun.
After a brief foot pursuit, officers located the teen, who was still in possession of the gun. Police say the teen refused to comply with initial verbal commands and he was safely taken into custody after officers used a Taser.
Police say they are recommending several charges against him.
No injuries were reported.
