The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is now hiring a season Apiary Inspector. If you have a background in beekeeping and love to talk about bees, please consider applying for this position today!
The selected candidate will conduct apiary inspections throughout eastern Wisconsin from April-October; provide outreach on honey bee pest management and pollinator protection; enforce honey bee import regulations; and issue certificates to migratory beekeepers who take bees to other states for pollination.
Knowledge of honey bees and other pollinators, outreach experience, natural science courses or degree(s), and computer skills (including MS Office and Geographic Information Systems-related apps, such as Survey 123) are preferred.
