OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — GO Transit, the public transportation service in the Greater Oshkosh area, is making changes to its paratransit operating hours.
Under the new operating hours, which take effect April 1, paratransit service will be referred to as GO Plus. Rather than its current availability of 24/7 service, paratransit will now be available Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“The demand for our paratransit services reduces in the overnight hours. By adjusting our operating hours to when the demand is higher, we will have more drivers available to help riders, improving our customer service,” said Steve Tomasik, transit operations manager at GO Transit, in a news release.
Officials say GO Plus will still provide employment-related transportation to paratransit riders outside of these new hours, if needed. Riders who use paratransit service to get to work should contact the GO Transit office at (920) 232-5340 to qualify for the Access to Jobs program.
