(WTAQ-WLUK) — An Oshkosh man will spend nearly three decades behind bars after he was convicted of obscenity and child pornography charges.
According to the Oshkosh Police Department, 52-year-old David Dejanovich pleaded guilty Wednesday to all five counts in the federal indictment. He was sentenced to 28 years in prison.
Dejanovich was convicted of second degree sexual assault of a child in 1993 and then of first degree sexual assault of a child in 1998, per the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registry.
In April 2024, Dejanovich “engaged in the receipt of obscene visual depictions of the sexual abuse of children” and received child pornography, which led to his indictment this spring.
Federal officials and Oshkosh police continue to work with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s Child Victim Identification Program to identify any additional victims.
