(LEARFIELD) – The Detroit Tigers claimed the three-game series against the Brewers when first baseman Spencer Torkelson slammed a walk-off home run.
Abner Uribe gave up the solo shot with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning and was charged with the loss.
Brandon Sproat started for Milwaukee and allowed 3 runs over 5 1/3 innings.
Tarik Skubal started for Detroit and gave up 4 runs over 6+ innings.
Brant Hurter pitched the ninth inning for Detroit and got the win.
Milwaukee had scored three times in the seventh to wipe out a 3-1 Tigers lead, taking the lead on a 2-run double by Blake Perkins and an RBI single by David Hamilton.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that his team is still missing those at-bats from Christian Yelich, Andrew Vaughn and Jackson Chourio.
Murphy said that the team came back against Skubal but just came up short.
Things don’t get any easier for the Brewers when they return home tonight to face the Pirates and Cy Young Award-winner Paul Skenes who is 3-1 with 3.27 ERA.
Brandon Woodruff who is 2-0 with a 3.42 ERA gets the starting nod for the Brewers.
