Shawano police investigate child’s death after pond incident at mini golf course

SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Shawano police say they are investigating the death of a five-year-old girl.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to an area of a mini golf course on E. Green Bay Street for a report of an unresponsive child.

Lt. Dan Conradt said the child was pulled from a pond on the property.

Despite life saving efforts from officers and emergency medical personnel, she was pronounced deceased.

Police say they are not releasing further details.
