(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers torched former teammate Freddy Peralta for three homers in Monday night’s 8-3 win over the New York Mets at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
That gives Milwaukee the best record in Major League Baseball at 63-and-37.
Going deep for the home team were Andrew Vaughn, Cooper Pratt, and Joseph Ortiz.
It was the first career home run for Pratt.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about Pratt’s first home run.
Pratt talked about it as well.
Pratt finished with 3 hits while Vaughn and Garrett Mitchell both had 2 hits for the Brewers.
Craig Yoho got the win in relief, pitching the fifth inning in relief of starter Jacob Misiorowski.
Misiorowski allowed 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6.
Murphy discussed letting Misiorowski pitch only 4 innings.
Misiorowski talked about going just 4 innings.
Lance McCullers Jr. gave up the other 2 runs to Mets while pitching the sixth through eighth innings.
Peralta who allowed 7 runs on 8 hits over 5 1/3 innings said that he can’t figure out what’s wrong.
Brandon Sproat is scheduled to start tonight’s second game of the series at American Family Field.
Sproat is 3-4 with a 5.16 ERA.
The Mets will counter with Zac Thorton who is 0-1 with a 2.60 ERA.
