(LEARFIELD) – Head coach Luke Fickell and his staff have brought 33 players to Madison through the transfer portal.
That’s the largest number since he became coach of the Badgers.
The problem has been that many of the transfers in the past haven’t performed when they took the field at Camp Randall Stadium.
At least a half-dozen of them are being counted on as starters for this fall.
The previous year Wisconsin signed 22 transfers and only edge rusher Mason Reiger and tight end Lance Mason had much impact.
