(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft is poised to start the season on the active roster.
General manager Brian Gutekunst said today that Kraft has made significant progress in his rehab from a torn ACL suffered in November and a Week One start is a real possibility.
Gutekunst spoke about that.
Meantime, Gutenkunst expressed optimism that he can get a new contract done with Kraft, who’s entering the final year of his rookie deal.
Kraft, meanwhile, talked about waiting for a contract to get done.
He said that he would like to get the extension done soon.
On other topics, Gutekunst said that he likes the offensive line he has now.
Defensively, Gutekunst thinks they can sustain a pass rush until Micah Parsons returns.
Gutekunst also spoke about how camp has changed.
LaFleur’s point-of-view: Packers coach Matt LaFleur talked about his message to players from the start.
He said that he wants the team to get healthy before first contact day on Monday.
LaFleur said that with Micah Parsons out, others have chance to shine.
Today’s public practice will begin at 10:30 on Ray Nitschke Field.
