(LEARFIELD/WNFL) – Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Kyle Harrison closed out his five scoreless innings Wednesday night by striking out the last eight batters he faced before leaving the game with cramps.
Harrison was the winning pitcher in Milwaukee’s 4-2 victory over Pittsburgh at American Family Field in Milwaukee Wednesday night.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about Harrison and his calf cramps.
Harrison said that it’s the first time he’s had to deal with full-blown cramps.
Harrison who just came on the injured list said that everything else felt fine.
William Contreras slammed his 11th home run of the season. Christian Yelich broke out of his lengthy slump with a pair of hits and Andrew Vaughn drove in 2 runs.
Murphy talked about Yelich have a 2-hit game after appealing to fans to support the veteran Brewers player.
Yelich who got his first hit against Pirates ace Paul Skenes talked about his approach when facing him.
Yelich also talked about the fan support.
Trevor Megill pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 20th save.
Milwaukee tries to take the four-game series this afternoon by winning its third game behind newcomer Dustin May who is 5-7 with a 4.38 ERA.
May talked about his season has gone so far.
He talked about joining the Brewers at this point in the season.
The Pirates will counter with Braxton Ashcraft. He is 11-4 with a 3.96 ERA.
