(UW ATHLETICS) – Wisconsin men’s basketball freshman duo Jackson Ball and Isaac Riddle will represent their home countries at the 2026 FIBA U18 Asia Cup in Ahmedabad, India, this month.
Ball will suit up for New Zealand during the tournament, which runs Aug. 13–25, while Riddle will represent Australia.
Neither Badger is a stranger to the international stage. Ball led New Zealand to a fourth-place finish at the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup last year, averaging 9.9 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game. The Napier, New Zealand, native also represented the Tall Blacks at the 2024 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup and the 2023 FIBA U16 Asian Championship.
Riddle was part of the Australian squad that won gold at the 2023 FIBA U16 Asia Cup and silver at the 2025 FIBA U17 Oceania Championship, where he averaged 14.0 points and 3.0 rebounds. A native of Adelaide, Australia, Riddle now aims to help Australia secure its third consecutive FIBA U18 title following gold-medal finishes in 2022 and 2024.
