Courtney Haupt (Manitowoc Co. Jail)
MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Manitowoc Public School District employee is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old child, police say.
Manitowoc police began their investigation into Courtney Haupt, 32, of Manitowoc, on Aug. 11 after receiving a report that she made unwanted sexual advances toward the child.
Through the investigation, police determined Haupt participated in a pattern of behavior that was considered grooming of the child for sexual contact.
Haupt was taken into custody on Thursday. Formal charges have not been filed.
While Haupt is an employee of the Manitowoc Public School District, police say they do not believe she participated in illegal acts at any district facilities.
Police did not say what position Haupt held at the school district.
