(WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is helping Menasha rebuild after a destructive EF-3 tornado.
Love’s foundation, Hands of 10ve, announced a $45,000 donation Tuesday to support rebuilding efforts in Menasha following the devastating storms and tornado that impacted the Fox Cities in July.
The contribution is in addition to a Packers Give Back $250,000 Impact Grant announced by the team last week.
The support includes a $15,000 contribution to the city of Menasha to help fund the replacement of playground equipment destroyed at Smith Park.
An additional $15,000 will support the rebuilding of Menasha Gegan Elementary School’s playground. The playground, which was replaced in 2022 and included accessible equipment, was destroyed in the storm.
The remaining $15,000 will go to Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity to support home repairs and new home builds for low-income families in Menasha. This contribution will support a community-wide recovery effort that is expected to include repairs to more than 300 homes and the construction of more than 30 new residences.
Love launched his Hands of 10ve Foundation in 2024 to empower children from all backgrounds to participate in sports, raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention and foster stronger relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
