Oct 04 (Field Level Media) – Golden State Valkyries forward Janelle Salaun was unanimously selected as the 2026 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year, the league announced Sunday.
Salaun earned the honor for the first time after receiving all 74 votes from a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. A player had to play more games as a reserve than as a starter to be eligible for the award.
Salaun, 25, led all WNBA reserves in scoring with 12.7 points per game. The 6-foot-2 France native came off the bench in all 40 of the games in which she played, setting league single-season records for points (509) and 3-pointers made (93) by a reserve.
Naz Hillmon of the Atlanta Dream won the award last year.
