Oscar Arroyo scored his first career goal in the 49th minute, which proved to be the winner for the Phoenix. The Phoenix now has eight points in the Horizon League standings, tied for the third-most in the league.
It was Alumni Day at Aldo Santaga Stadium, as former Phoenix players gathered to honor the late, legendary coach Lou LeCalsey.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Green & White dominated the run of play in the first half, outshooting the Titans 7-1 in the frame. The wind played a significant factor Saturday afternoon, and the Phoenix played against it in the first half.
Green Bay kept its foot on the gas to start the second half, finding the game-winner less than four minutes after the halftime break. A cleared ball came to Ty Perkins in the middle of the field, who found Luke Nicholson on the left side of the field. Nicholson collected and whipped in a left-footed cross to find a streaking Arroyo who beat the Titans keeper and made it 1-0. The Phoenix controlled possession for most of the second half and was able to hold on for the crucial three points.
