GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Music is echoing in the halls of the Studio Arts building at UW-Green Bay.
Heid Music delivered 11 new Clavinova digital pianos Tuesday afternoon.
They’re the first new instruments the university has received since 2000.
They’re part of a $2.3 million donation from the late Robert J Bauer.
The university hopes the gift will inspire the next generation of musicians.
“We are dedicated to creating the next generation of music educators, and music performers, and audio professionals to serve Northeast Wisconsin, the state, and all across the country really,” said UW-Green Bay director of visual and performing arts Eric High.
The Clavinova digital pianos represent only a portion of Bauer’s gift.
Funding also went to the Weidner Center and the university’s instruments and music program.
