(247NEWSSOURCE) – Former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson interviewed Tuesday for NC State’s head coaching vacancy, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Wilson joins fellow former NC State and NFL quarterback Philip Rivers as a candidate for the position after the school fired coach Dave Doeren.
Wilson played for the Wolfpack from 2008 to 2010 before transferring to Wisconsin, then went on to a 14-year NFL career after being selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
A ten-time Pro Bowl selection, Wilson retired from the NFL in June and became an analyst for CBS Sports.
